Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or later / AMD Athlon 64 X2 or later

Memory: 4 GB RAM

Storage Space: 7 GB free disk space

Internet Connection: Preferably broadband at the least or as long as it is stable

Operating System: Any 64-bit OS

How to Download iMessage on PC?

Step 1: Download the most recent version of Oracle VirtualBox here.

Right-click on the file and choose ‘Run as administrator.’ Installing this is as simple as choosing ‘Next’ and then ‘Finished.’

Step 2: Download macOS Sierra 10.12.

There is no official way to directly download this OS on your PC because the Mac Store won’t open without detecting a macOS first. However, you can find links to the entire macOS online.

One full copy of macOS Sierra 10.12 is 5.3 GB in size while the other link divides the OS into five sections. The latter option is best for people with a slow or inconsistent internet connection. Both are stored on Google Drive.

Be wary of where you download the OS and have your anti-virus software turned on just in case.

Step 3: Download the VirtualBox Code for your version of VirtualBox.

Again, there is no official source for this. Be careful when you browse online for the correct code. If you can’t find the code for Version 6 but there are ones available for Version 5 and 4, you can download the older VirtualBox versions here.

Step 4: Download WinRAR from here and wait for the download to complete.

Right-click the WinRAR installer file and select ‘Run as administrator.’ Then, read the Terms and Conditions and then click ‘Install.’

Select the file types you want to associate on the Setup dialog box and then choose ‘OK’. This is where you can add WinRAR to your desktop and Start menu as well. Click ‘Done’ once WinRAR has been fully installed.

Step 5: Right-click on the macOS installer file you have and choose ‘Extract Here.’ This step is important to get iMessage for PC.

You can also choose to extract it to a new folder.

Step 6: Open VirtualBox.

Step 7: Select ‘New’ on the upper-left section of the app.

Step 8: Type-in the necessary details.

Name of OS: macOS 10.12 Sierra

Type: Mac OS X

Version: 10.12 Sierra

Memory Size: 4 GB

Note that you should choose ‘Use an existing virtual hard disk file’ and select ‘macOS 10.12 Sierra.vmdk.’

Step 9: Click on ‘Create’ to make your Virtual Machine (VM).

Step 10: Begin editing the VM by selecting ‘Settings.’

Step 11: Go to ‘General’ located at the right portion and choose the default option for everything.

Step 12: Find ‘System’ below ‘General’ and select that next. Go to the Processor tab and select at least two CPUs and check the box next to ‘Enable PAE/NX.’

Step 13: Go to the Motherboard tab. Select ‘IHC9’ or ‘PIIX3’ for the Chipset and remove the check mark on the box for ‘Floppy.’ Check the box for ‘Enable EFI (special OSes only).’

Step 14: Go to Display settings located below the System settings. Choose ‘128MB’ for Video Memory.

Step 15: Go to Storage settings found below the Display settings. Click your macOS and ensure that ‘SATA Port 0’ is selected for the Hard Disk in the ‘Attributes’ section.

Step 16: Copy the text on the VirtualBox Code file you downloaded and paste it on Notepad or any other word-processing app.

Check the text and see if there are portions with quotation marks telling you to place the name of your Virtual Machine.

To replace these placeholders, go to VirtualBox again and click on ‘General.’ Then, simply select ‘Basic’ to know the VM name. Close VirtualBox and then replace the placeholder on the code with the actual name of your VM.

Step 17: Search for ‘Command Prompt’ on the search box of your PC and right-click on it then select ‘Run as administrator’.

Step 18: Place the VirtualBox code in the Command Prompt one line after another.

Step 19: Open VirtualBox. You can then select ‘Start’ or ‘Run’ to turn on your macOS on the VM. A black screen filled with a code will pop up, but this is nothing to worry about.

Step 20: Begin installing macOS Sierra. Select a country and just follow the installation process to fully set up the operating system.

Once it’s done, you can open iMessage to log-in and start messaging your friends online. There is no need to download iMessage on Mac since it is a built in service for iOS users.
